Job summary

Pepper Source is seeking a Forklift Driver/Backup Lead for the 2nd shift (3:00 PM – 11:30 PM) in Alabama. The role operates a propane-powered forklift and may direct coworkers to move pallets and totes to support production flow.

The ideal candidate will follow safety procedures, perform forklift checks, and report issues to the Department Supervisor, with overtime as needed and a focus on food safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Relays problems to the Department Supervisor.
• Performs duties of Forklift Driver in absence of lead.

Job Title: Forklift Driver/Backup Lead

Reports To: Department Supervisor

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Hourly

2nd Shift

Hours: 3:00PM to 11:30PM

Overtime is required based on production needs.

Pay: $19/Hour

Summary Operates or directs other workers to operate a powered industrial truck equipped with lifting devices such as forklift, boom, lift beam and elevating platform, to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move products, equipment, or materials by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Drives propane powered industrial truck equipped with lifting devices to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move totes, drums, and pallets.
• Sets an example for all employees in the areas of personnel and food safety.
• Ensures proper procedures are being followed.
• Immediately relays any problems or concerns to the Department Supervisor.
• Completes forklift checklist in computer.
• Replaces liquefied gas tank.
• Performs job duties of Forklift Driver in their absence.
