Job summary

Scotland Health Care System is seeking a Full-time RN for the Progressive Care unit in Laurinburg, NC. The role requires current NC or multi-state RN licensure, BLS, ACLS, and strong communication skills. You will oversee nursing care, supervise staff, and ensure proper charting and patient safety.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Stay current with best practices in ED/GI nursing.
  • Ensure proper technique and standards are followed.
  • Supervise room personnel and assist as needed.
  • Ensure patient care through accurate charting and condition reporting.
  • Verify consent forms are accurate and signed before procedures.
  • Maintain proper body alignment during procedures.
  • Ensure all supplies and equipment are ready and functioning.
  • Cares for specimens per policy.
  • Complete documentation and billing charges.
  • Accompany patient to care unit and brief nurse on procedure.
  • Interview patient prior to procedure to assess needs.
  • Prepare supplies and organize materials per patient and procedure.
  • Demonstrate age-specific competencies across life spans.
  • Perform duties as assigned by surgical services leadership.
  • Respond promptly to patient needs and concerns.

Department: Scotland Memorial Hospital - Nursing: Progressive Care Status: Full time Shift: 3rd (United States of America) Schedule Details/Additional Information: Education Graduate Of Accredited Nursing Program Certification/Licensure (including annual requirements) Current NC or Multistate RN licensure; current BLS Specialized Training Acls Certification Other Skills And Competencies Demonstrates Excellent Communication Skills, Both Written And Verbal. Diplomacy, Tact, And A Positive Approach To Problem Solving Are Required To Be Successful. Organizational Skills Are A Must. Fosters A Teamwork Environment. Must Be Able To Communicate With Patients, Customers, Other Departments, And Staff In An Articulate And Professional Manner Computer (Electronic Medical Record) Charting

Responsibilities
  • 1.Stay current with best practice and advancements in edoscopy and gastroenterology nursing.
  • 2.Ensures that proper technique and practice are used according to accepted standards.
  • 3.Supervises other personnel in the room and directs or assists as necessary.
  • 4.Ensures care of patient through proper identification, checking of chart and reporting changes in condition.
  • 5.Ascertains that consent form is accurate and properly signed prior to procedure.
  • 6.Ensures proper body alignment throughout procedure.
  • 7.Have all supplies and equipment in room with equipment checks completed before procedure to ensure it is in working condition.
  • 8.Cares for specimens and cultures according to policy and procedure.
  • 9.Completes documentation and charges.
  • 10.Accompanies patient to patient care unit and reports to nurse on patient procedure and special happenings.
  • 11.Interviews patient prior to procedure to facilitate knowledge of patient, assesses condition and needs.
  • 12.Prepares supplies and organizes materials with respect to special needs of patient and procedure.
  • 13.Age Specific Competency: Staff members will have knowledge of human growth and development through the life span of the patient and have the ability to meet the needs of and provide the care of these patients. The age categories to be included are: Adolescence 13 - 17 yrs; Young Adult/Adult 18 - 64 yrs; Adult/Middle-Aged 65 - 79 yrs; Geriatric 80+ yrs
  • 14.Performs duties as assigned by surgical services leadership.
