Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde NHSGGC is recruiting a Registered Nurse Learning Disability (RNLD) to join Specialist Learning Disability Inpatient Services. Based at Claythorn House, you will join a skilled multidisciplinary team delivering patient-centred care to individuals with learning disabilities and complex needs.

You will hold an RNLD or RMN qualification, with live NMC pin, and demonstrate strong communication, risk assessment and professional development.

Qualifications

• Live NMC pin required to be considered.
• Registered Nurse Learning Disability or RMN qualification.
• Current NMC registration or eligibility to register.
• Ability to assess risk and exercise clinical judgement.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients with learning disabilities and complex needs.
• Undertake assessment, care planning, implementation and evaluation of individualised care programmes.
• Act as a Named or Associate Nurse for a defined patient group.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary colleagues to support positive patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate patient records and provide effective written and verbal clinical communication.
• Respond appropriately to clinical incidents, emergencies and changes in patient presentation.
• Support, supervise and develop students, support workers and junior members of staff.
