Job summary

UAB Medicine in Birmingham, Alabama seeks an experienced perioperative RN/First Assistant to collaborate with surgeons and the healthcare team during the intraoperative phase, ensuring safe care and optimal outcomes. The role requires CNOR/RNFA readiness and OR experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing or Advanced Practice nursing degree.
• CNOR required if not pursuing Advanced Practice nursing degree.
• Two years of operating room experience as scrub nurse, circulating nurse or APN required.
• RNFA program enrollment in NIFA/AORN-compliant program required with supporting letters.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with and under direction of the surgeon and healthcare team to perform safe intraoperative nursing care for optimal patient outcomes.
• Practice perioperative nursing with required knowledge, skills and judgment.
