Job summary

Dignity Health - French Hospital Medical Center in San Luis Obispo, California seeks a qualified RNFA to lead perioperative care across multiple ORs and PACU bays, bridging frontline nursing with strategic leadership to redefine surgical outcomes.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years perioperative practice experience.

• PALS within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assess, planning, intervention, evaluation, and documentation of surgical patients.
• Overall responsibility for nursing care and supervision of OR Technicians.
• Directly assists the surgeon intraoperatively and guides the surgical team.

• Special Training: RNFA Credentialing Completed/signed by provider within 3 months of hire within each specialty. Cross train to all period roles within 6 months of hire.

• Reports to the Director of Surgical Services.

• Responsibilities include assessment, planning, intervention, evaluation and documentation of surgical patients.

• Overall responsibility is for the nursing care of patients and for maintaining standards of nursing practice and optimal outcomes, including supervision of OR Technicians.

• Directly assists surgeon intraoperatively, assists with patient positioning and directing other surgical team members while practicing perioperative nursing.

Job Requirements

Required

• Three (3) years Perioperative Practice experience

• Experience in both scrub and circulating RN roles

• Registered Nurse: CA RN License

• Basic Life Support - CPR BLS

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support - ACLS

• Certified Nurse Operating Room - CNOR

• Pediatric Advanced Life Support - PALS within 6 - months

Preferred

• Previous first assist experience

• Experience as RN and First Assist in CVOR, Ortho, Neuro, General, Robotics, GYN, Advanced Endoscopy, Hybrid procedures and urology highly preferred

$54.15 - $80.81 /hour
