Job summary

Dignity Health - Arroyo Grande Community Hospital in Arroyo Grande, CA is seeking an RN First Assistant (RNFA) to lead perioperative teams across ORs and PACU bays, aligning frontline care with organizational goals and patient experience.

In this role you will mentor nurses, document intra‑operative care, assist with positioning and draping, and advocate for staff to drive safety and quality.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited RN program.
  • 2 years Perioperative Practice.
  • Registered Nurse: CA RN License.
  • Basic Life Support - CPR BLS, within 30 Days.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support - ACLS, within 30 Days.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support - PALS, within 90 Days.

Responsibilities

  • Employee has the willingness and ability to perform additional duties and responsibilities in different areas of the department on an as‑needed basis or as determined by management.
  • Maintains good attendance and punctuality.
  • Consistently projects positive professional image through appearance and behavior.
  • Completes all required intra‑operative documentation, i.e., operative record, charge sheets, implant records, pathology slips, etc., per policy and procedure. Documents any unusual occurrence on an incident trending report.
  • Assists with application to tourniquet.
  • Assist with the positioning, prepping and draping of the patient or perform these independently.
