Job summary

The Ohio State University is seeking an RNA Research Technician 1 in the Veterinary Medicine department to perform molecular biology work and computational analysis for a viral DNA/RNA analysis project. This temporary role runs from Sept 1 to Nov 30, 2026, with a first shift and 18 scheduled hours per week.

Qualifications require MS and PhD level biology and computer programming experience; MS and/or PhD are desired. Location is the Goss Laboratory (0180) in Columbus, OH.

The College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking applications for a RNA Research Scientist 1.

This position will perform molecular biology work and computational analysis for an viral DNA and RNA analysis project. MA- and PhD-level basic biology laboratory experience and computer programming experience are required.

This position is a temporary appointment from September 1st to November 30th 2026

Target Salary Range: $15.15 - $19.79 per hour; commensurate with experience, internal equity, the unit’s available budget, and the candidate’s qualifications.
