Description:

Registered Nurse (RN) - Wound Care Clinic
PRN

Position Summary:

• Provide education to patients and families on disease process, treatment, diagnostic testing, and patient responsibilities involving treatment.
• Perform initial assessment and reassessments with appropriate documentation. Notify MD of abnormal findings.
• Obtain laboratory samples per policy (e.g., wound cultures).
• Assess wounds and apply ordered dressings per policy (e.g., Una Boots, Combiderm, Aquacel).
• Document all treatments accurately on forms or computer systems.
• Coordinate patient scheduling to ensure optimal and timely care.
• Promote a positive organizational image by providing courteous service to patients, families, visitors, physicians, and staff.
• Interpret lab data and notify MD, pharmacy, or other departments for treatment adjustments.
• Complete department charges and revisit data promptly to ensure compliance.
• Participate in quality improvement activities.
• Assist with inpatient wound care as needed.
