Job Description

Our Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum unit is the only OB Trauma Center in the Pittsburgh area. This unit consists of 1 OR, 10 labor and delivery beds, 8 postpartum beds, 5 triage beds, and 4 special care nursery beds. We average approximately 120 births per month with a nurse to patient ratio of 11 in active labor and 13-14 in couplet care.

Position Overview

The Registered Nurse assesses human responses and plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care for individuals or families. The nurse is fully responsible for all actions as a licensed professional and is accountable for the quality of care delivered.

Essential Responsibilities

  15. Seek ongoing learning and apply current research to practice.
  16. Participate in peer review and seek feedback for improvement.

  19. Manage time efficiently to complete duties within the shift.
Qualifications
Minimum
  • Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance
  • Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance
  • Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Clearance
  • Current PA RN licensure or multi-state license via eNLC
  • CPR certification
Preferred
  • Specialty certification
