This role involves providing professional nursing care to patients within assigned areas, utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. The position requires performing duties on the weekend shift.

Responsibilities
  1. Provide nursing care according to medical regimens and established standards, policies, and procedures, including care of ambulatory practice patients. Initiate assessments based on patient needs, collect key information, ensure consent and identification procedures are completed, and determine nursing diagnoses and care priorities.
  2. Conduct ongoing assessments, update nursing diagnoses, involve family and significant individuals, and adapt care plans accordingly.
  3. Assess, plan, and implement care, perform therapeutic interventions ordered by physicians, and document all care activities thoroughly.
  4. Respond to medical emergencies, assist with CPR/BLS as required.
  5. Educate patients and families about disease management, develop teaching outlines, and evaluate patient progress.
  6. Maintain accurate medical records, document patient status, and utilize computer systems for data entry and retrieval.
  7. Collaborate with patients, families, and hospital staff to meet patient needs in a courteous and responsive manner, adhering to standards and promoting satisfaction.
  8. Supervise LPNs and support personnel, oversee training and orientation of new staff and students.
  9. Transport patients, specimens, and supplies, and collaborate with forensic and security teams to ensure safety.
  10. Complete ongoing training, participate in staff meetings, contribute to quality improvement initiatives, and maintain competencies.
  11. Maintain a clean, safe environment and comply with policies, safety, and infection control standards.
  12. Prepare and maintain necessary records and reports for administrative and compliance purposes.
Qualifications
  • Qualified to work with school-age, adolescent, adult, and/or geriatric populations as dictated by the assignment.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • RN license in the relevant state or a compact license required.
  • Minimum of 1 year inpatient care experience required.
