Job summary

Touchstone Communities seeks an RN Weekend Supervisor to lead clinical teams at Las Alturas Brownsville, 180 E Price Rd., Brownsville, TX. The role centers on compassionate, high-quality resident care and mentoring staff, aligned with the Touchstone Experience for Veterans and families.

The RN will supervise weekend shifts, coordinate with interdisciplinary teams, and support quality outcomes while fostering growth and a positive work environment for staff and residents.

Qualifications

• Current Texas RN license (or Compact State).
• Minimum of two years in long-term care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or post-acute care.
• Demonstrated supervisory or leadership experience.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication, coaching, and problem-solving abilities.
• Commitment to resident advocacy and quality care.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, guidance, and support to nursing team members during assigned shifts.
• Ensure high-quality, resident-centered care in line with regulatory standards.
• Monitor resident conditions and respond to clinical changes promptly.
• Serve as a resource and mentor for LVNs, CNAs, and other clinical staff.
• Foster a positive, collaborative work environment to support engagement and growth.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support resident wellbeing and outcomes.
• Assist with staffing coordination, clinical oversight, and shift operations.
• Ensure compliance with state, federal, and organizational policies.
• Promote the Touchstone Experience in daily interactions with residents and families.

What You'll Do

As an RN Supervisor, you will:

• Provide leadership, guidance, and support to nursing team members during assigned shifts.

• Monitor and evaluate resident conditions, responding promptly to clinical concerns and changes in condition.

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support resident wellbeing and positive clinical outcomes.
• Assist with staffing coordination, clinical oversight, and shift operations.
• Support compliance with state, federal, and organizational policies and procedures.
• Foster meaningful connections with residents, families, and fellow team members through the Touchstone Experience.

What You Bring

Required Qualifications

• Current and valid Texas RN license or Compact State RN license.
• Minimum of two (2) years of long-term care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or post-acute care experience.
• Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication, coaching, and problem-solving abilities.
• Commitment to resident advocacy and quality care.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in a supervisory or charge nurse capacity.
• Experience working in Veterans homes, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or post-acute care settings.
• Knowledge of state and federal long-term care regulations.
