RN Weekend Option Medical Surgical

CommonSpirit Health – St. Anthony North Hospital, an award‑winning Magnet® Hospital located in Westminster, CO, is seeking a registered nurse to work a weekend option schedule in the 5‑West Medical Surgical Department. The preferred candidate will have at least six months of direct RN experience and be eligible for a $20,000 sign‑on bonus (full‑time or part‑time). The role requires a six‑month commitment to weekend shifts with a $10 an hour weekend differential for Saturday and Sunday. Relocation assistance of up to $8,000 may be available based on location.

The 5‑West unit cares for medical‑surgical, cardiac, and neurological patients. Common diagnoses include chronic disease exacerbations such as diabetes, heart failure, COPD, acute infections, gastrointestinal disorders, and pre‑ and post‑operative care for orthopedic, abdominal, and general surgeries. The unit receives overflow from across the hospital and offers a fast‑paced, team‑based environment.

As a Nurse, you will facilitate, communicate, and collaborate with the healthcare team and the patient/family to meet physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. You will promote optimal health and safety through the nursing process, patient care standards, guidelines, and the State Nurse Practice Act, and demonstrate accountability for relationship‑based care, organizational mission, and core values.

Weekend Option Commitment & Differential

• Must commit to a six‑month weekend schedule.
• $10 per hour weekend differential for Saturday and Sunday shifts.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate’s Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Nursing diploma or endorsement acceptable; graduate of an accredited school of nursing required for new graduates, preferred for experienced RNs.
• Experience: One year of RN experience required; nursing skills and knowledge specific to the specialty.
• Licensure: Current RN license required. State license or valid RN license from a National Licensure Compact state accepted.
• Physical: Medium work; able to exert up to 50 lbs occasionally, 20 lbs frequently, or 10 lbs constantly.
