Job summary
STARC of Louisiana is seeking a PRN Sub-contract RN for their Waiver Services Program in Slidell, Louisiana. The RN will provide ongoing nursing services and consult on an as-needed basis at STARC homes or private family homes.
The successful candidate will complete health assessments, train direct support professionals on medication, and offer consultations regarding medication management. A Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and a current RN License in Louisiana are required.
Qualifications
- Current RN License in the State of Louisiana.
- Experience with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
- Must provide proof of liability insurance.

- Provide person specific training to direct support professionals regarding medication.
- Submit required documentation regarding health assessments and training.

Job description
PRN- Sub-contract RN need for STARC of Louisiana’s Waiver Services Program. RN will provide on going nursing services and consultation on as needed basis. Services to be provided in STARC home or private family home.
- Completion of annual health assessments on identified participants
- Completion of initial and annual demonstration of competency of direct support professionals
- Provide person specific training to direct support professionals regarding medication and medication administration
- Provide consultation to staff regarding medication side effects, route, dosage, changes in medications, etc.
- Submit required documentation regarding health assessments, exams, training, etc.
- Availability for on call consultation
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Accredited University
Current RN License State of Louisiana
Experience with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred
Must provide proof of liability insurance
