Overview

As a virtual member of the interdisciplinary team, contribute professional nursing knowledge and skills in the provision and management of care to patients through the application of the nursing process. The position will utilize technology to communicate admission, discharge, and education to both inpatient nursing and patients/family members.

Must live within a 90 mile radius of Carle Methodist Hospital, Peoria, Illinois

Qualifications

• License/Certifications: Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
• Education: Bachelor's Degree: Nursing (Required)
• Other Knowledge/Skills: Must live within a 90 mile radius of Carle Methodist Hospital

Responsibilities

• Assesses and documents patient's status through virtual interview.
• Functions as a scribe for inpatient nursing physical assessment and as needed.
• Develops an individualized plan of care using a collaborative approach with the patient/family and health care team.
• Completes required documentation including patient chart and event reports.
• Demonstrates technical knowledge of equipment and troubleshoots when problems arise.
• Maintains current knowledge and skills in evidence-based nursing practice and virtual nursing advances.
• Demonstrates professional accountability for own practice, seeking resources and self-development.
• Virtual Work Environment
• Ensures all technology functions properly prior to use.
• Proficient at conducting virtual assessments, scribing, and admission/discharge processes.
• Analyzes clinical situations systematically and acts to resolve issues to meet patient needs.
• Prioritizes work based on patient condition, assignment changes, and interruptions.
• Uses team resources to solve problems.
• Communicates effectively and constructively with peers.
• Promotes and achieves customer satisfaction.
• Virtual Patient and Staff Education
• Adapts teaching strategies based on learner response, proficient in teach-back.
• Considers cultural, age, gender, and developmental factors in teaching.
• Consults hospital resources for specialized education; refers to live RN when virtual education is not suitable.
• Shares clinical knowledge and mentors new nurses or staff in unfamiliar processes.

Compensation and Benefits
