Subacute Unit, RN

$15,000 Sign On Bonus

$40-$55 dollars per hour based on experience

Exciting opportunity for a highly motivated RN to work in the intriguing field of skilled nursing while utilizing your acute care skills. Park Place Transitional Care is a large, 189 bed facility located in Great Falls, MT where we have just established a subacute unit, positioning ourselves to be one of the few providers in Montana that offers trach and vent care. This position will be exclusive to this unit and will require a specific set of skills and prowess. Our facility shares a campus with our local hospital and staffs our own full-time physician, five days a week, so support and resources are readily available to help you facilitate excellent clinical outcomes.

The ideal candidate will possess an active, unincumbered, RN licensure in Montana or a participating compact state, possess an active ALS certification or be willing to obtain within the first 2 weeks of employment and able to pass a background check, without stipulations. Experience in the acute environment is a must, with a minimum of 6 months or greater time spent at a hospital; ICU or ER exposure preferred.

Responsibilities of the Registered Nurse include but are not limited to:
  • Monitoring Patient Vitals: Regularly checking and recording vital signs, including heart rate, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation.
  • Assisting with Ventilator Management: Setting up and adjusting ventilator settings as prescribed by the healthcare provider and ensuring proper function of the ventilator.
  • Assessing Patient Condition: Conducting thorough assessments of patients, including respiratory status, to identify any changes or complications.
  • Administering Medications: Giving medications as ordered, often including sedatives, analgesics, and bronchodilators, and monitoring their effects.
  • Providing Respiratory Care: Performing suctioning of airways, tracheostomy care, and administering nebulizer treatments.
  • Documentation: Keeping accurate and detailed records of patient progress, interventions, and ventilator settings.
  • Communicating with Healthcare Team: Collaborating with doctors, respiratory therapists, and other team members to develop and adjust care plans.
  • Educating Patients and Families: Providing information and support to patients and their families regarding treatments and care plans.
  • Infection Control Practices: Following strict protocols to prevent infections, particularly in patients who are intubated or on mechanical ventilation.
  • Emergency Response: Being prepared to respond to emergencies, such as sudden changes in a patient’s condition or ventilator alarms.
  • Performs other duties as directed
