Job summary

Endeavor Health in Chicago, IL is seeking a Staff Nurse to deliver safe, compassionate nursing care across patient populations by planning, implementing, and evaluating care plans. The role collaborates with nurses, physicians, and the clinical team to optimize outcomes and continuity of care.

You will develop and revise care plans, assess health data, and communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team to meet learning needs and cultural considerations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing required.
  • 1 year ICU or ER experience preferred.
  • 1 year radiology nursing experience preferred.
  • 1 year wound/ostomy experience preferred.
  • Active Illinois RN license required; ACLS and BLS certifications required; CWON/CWCN preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements a plan of care that identifies interventions to achieve expected outcomes.
  • Performs patient assessment and collection of health data.
  • Communicates plan of care to patient and family and to the medical team.
  • Delivers teaching tailored to patient learning needs and cultural background.
  • Supports professional development of the care team and delegates tasks as needed.
  • Contributes to a compassionate, supportive environment and clinical education.
  • Assists with procedures and medication administration as needed.
  • Participates in wound/ostomy/skin care rounds and monitors treatment effectiveness.
  • Ensures compliance with HIPAA and patient safety standards.

Hourly Pay Range:

$37.25 - $57.74 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

A Brief Overview:
The Staff Nurse will deliver safe and compassionate nursing care for all patient populations by planning, implementing, and evaluating the patient plan of care. The Staff Nurse will collaborates with nurses, physicians, and other members of the clinical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and continuity of care.
What you will do:
  • Develops a plan of care that identifies interventions to achieve expected outcomes. Evaluates patient?s progress toward attainment of outcomes, systematically revises diagnosis, interventions and expected outcomes as needed.
  • Provides patient assessment and collection of health data involving patient, family and other health care providers. .
  • Communicates plan of care to patient and family regularly respecting the patient?s wishes through acknowledgment of patient/family perceptions of health and illness and mutual goal setting for optimal outcomes. Communicates patient data to physician and interdisciplinary team as indicated to achieve patient care needs. Documents patient health data, interventions and communications.
  • Individualizes patient and family teaching based on a thorough assessment to meet their specific learning needs. Assesses patient?s cultural background, learning style, learning barriers, and modifies teaching plan accordingly. Provides teaching on disease management strategies, emergency care and drug information when appropriate. Identifies community resources to support patient self-management of disease.
  • Interacts with and contributes to professional development of peers, students and other health care providers as colleagues. Shares knowledge, provides feedback and contributes to an environment supportive of clinical education. Assigns or delegates tasks as needed.
  • Nurture a compassionate environment by providing psychological support
  • Provide assistance to technical staff with injection of contrast, venipuncture, and administration of drugs, 02 therapy, and IV management.
  • Participates in performance improvement activities and nursing research. Keeps abreast of research and practice trends in wound/ostomy/skin care through participation in professional networking, ongoing education, and self-directed learning activities. Supports staff in using research and providing evidence-based care
  • If skilled, conducts daily rounds of wound/ostomy/skin care patients. Monitors effectiveness of wound/ostomy treatment plans and other aspects of wound/ostomy/skin care
  • Complies with HIPAA regulations.
  • Assist in the transporting of acutely ill patients as needed.
What you will need:
  • Bachelors Degree Nursing Required
  • 1 Year ICU or ER experience, preferred And
  • 1 Year radiology nursing experience, preferred And
  • 1 Year Wound/ostomy experience, preferred And
  • Successful completion of Wound Ostomy Associate class, preferred
  • Registered Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) Active Illinois State Nursing License Required And
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association (AHA) Required And
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - NationalCPRFoundation (NCPRF) Required And
  • Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse (CWON) - Wound, Ostomy, Continence Nursing Certification Board (WOCNCB) Preferred Or
  • Certified Wound Care Nurse (CWCN) - Wound, Ostomy, Continence Nursing Certification Board (WOCNCB) Preferred
