Job summary

L.A. Care Health Plan seeks a Supervisor of Utilization Management (UM) RN in MI to lead the UM department’s day-to-day operations, ensuring staffing, coverage, and performance.

The role focuses on efficient, compliant care management and acts as SME for care/utilization processes within a large public health plan. The position reports to the UM Manager/Director, involves training staff, implementing improvements, and coordinating with interdisciplinary teams to support high-quality patient care

Qualifications

• Knowledge of state, federal and regulatory requirements in Care/Case/Utilization Management.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and core departmental systems.
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversees day-to-day UM operations and staff performance.
• Mentors staff and leads process improvements within UM.
• Ensures appropriate staffing, coverage, and regulatory compliance.
• Escalates issues and coordinates with leadership as needed.
