RN, Urogynecology Women's Health Practice Nurse- Per Diem

Baystate Health, western Massachusetts’s premier healthcare provider, and home to Baystate Medical Practices is looking for an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Women's Health Urogynecology team!

Responsibilities:
  • Functions independently to assess, develop, and implement a plan of care for complex patients including medical and/or psychosocial disorders.

  • Provides independent quality triage and patient care utilizing strong assessment skills, point of care testing, and quality assurance checks.

  • Establishes plan of care, sets priorities, and implements the plan of care with patient/family and team/provider input.

  • Triages and coordinates patient care ensuring access to care and patient success.

  • New patient chart navigation.

  • Perform daily scheduled patient nurse visits.

  • Perform daily post-op calls.

  • Perform Urodynamic Studies (60-min procedure) 10-15 per week.

  • Intermittent Straight Catheterization (ISC) teaching and management of patients with urinary retention.

  • Post Void Residual (PVR) education of the patient/family for self-catheterization; work closely with the physician as the patient may require additional surgery.

  • Inbox Messages - follow up treatments/care plan from providers must be addressed and calls made to patients with test results. Monitor/work all clinical and prescription pools.

  • May assist in visits and procedures for patients seeking abortion services or services for pregnancy loss such as collecting supplies, printing consents, organizing instruments, medications, and/or assisting during insertion of cervical dilators for surgical abortion procedures.

Required Work Experience:
  • Massachusetts license as an RN.

  • BLS CPR certified.

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of nursing experience.

  • Experience in women's health, GYN or oncology specialty preferred.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment & handle multiple tasks/priorities.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Must have competency in delivering exceptional nursing care and have proven success in partnering with both physicians and staff.

Other Information:
  • Location – 3400 Main Street.

  • Per Diem Monday – Friday.
