Job summary

OptumCare Southwest Medical in Las Vegas, NV is seeking an Urgent Care RN to provide and monitor high-quality patient care in a critical care setting. You will use the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, including vital signs and medication reviews.

The role requires NV RN licensure, BLS/ACLS, PALS or eligibility, and 1+ years of acute care experience. Night shift hours are 7 pm–7 am, with a 12-hour shift pattern and rotating weekends/holidays.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted NV RN license (or temporary with ability to convert)
• BLS and ACLS required; PALS or ability to obtain upon hire
• 1+ years of acute care nursing experience (ER, MED/SURG, ICU, urgent care)
• Proven IV skills and ability to interpret telemetry rhythms
• Ability to coordinate care with providers and team members
• Demonstrated initiative and multi-system assessment skills

As an Urgent Care RN you will provide and monitor quality patient care, in a critical care environment, utilizing the nursing process. Identifies, initiates and assesses the effectiveness for known and potential problems and evaluates outcomes.

The Urgent Care RN is responsible for providing patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementing, evaluating and documentation of patient information to include vital signs, chief complaint, review of medications, allergies and interventions, including IV therapy and drug administration.

Schedule: Nights 7 pm - 7am (3) 12 hour shifts including rotating weekends and holidays. Location: 888 S RANCHO DR

Primary Responsibilities:

• Prepares patient for exam, notes and documents responses to interventions and confers Provider
• Anticipate provider needs for patient exam or treatments, such as set up for pelvic exam, or minor procedures as well as ensuring patient disrobes as appropriate. Ensure provider is assisted with in house procedures
• Provides clinical intervention such as drug administration, treatments, IV Therapy, and procedures as ordered by provider
• Initiates clinical follow through for patient care services, i.e., lab, x-ray, pharmacy, referral and telephone communication
• Delegates and assists co - workers with duties, to include but not limited to floating to other areas
• Compliance requirements such as laboratory QC management, waive testing, maintenance of crash cart and narcotic count as well as other requirements dictated by clinic needs
• Maintaining required licensure and certification

Required Qualifications:

• Current, unrestricted NV RN license or temporary NV RN license with the ability to obtain permanent NV RN license upon expiration of temporary NV RN license
• BLS / ACLS
• PALS or ability to obtain upon hire
• 1+ years of clinical nursing experience in an acute care setting (ER, MED / SURG, Critical Care, Urgent Care)
• Proven excellent IV skills
• Proven ability to read and interpret Cardiac Telemetry rhythms
• Proven ability to develop and implement plan of care based on assessment skills
• Proven ability to coordinate medical care with provider and appropriate team members
• Demonstrated initiative towards problem solving
• Demonstrated multi-system assessment skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2+ years clinical nursing experience in an acute care setting
• Experience charting in EMR
