Job summary

Ochsner Health in New Orleans, LA is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide administrative/clinical support to facilitate patient care.

The role requires RN licensure, 3+ years acute care, and ability to coordinate with nursing staff across shifts and sites. BLS is required; ACLS/CCRN preferred.

Qualifications

• Required RN diploma; active RN license.
• 3+ years acute care experience required.
• BLS certification required; ACLS and CCRN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serves as a resource to the nursing staff in the delivery of patient care.
• Rounds frequently throughout the shift identifying issues that need administrative action and communication forward to appropriate level.
• Supervises and leads staff effectively.
• Provides care based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety and related criteria, appropriate to the ages of patients served in assigned area.
• Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to: respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
• Performs other related duties as required.
