Job summary

University Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, an Athens, GA long-term care facility, seeks an experienced RN Supervisor to oversee unit operations, supervise nursing staff, and ensure high-quality resident care during Monday–Friday 3pm–11pm. You will participate in admissions, coordinate care with the care team, and lead safety and regulatory compliance initiatives.

The role requires a GA RN license, 2+ years in long-term care, and strong leadership, communication, and clinical skills.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state of Georgia.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a long-term care or rehabilitation setting.
• Prior administrative experience and training in both nursing and administration.
• Strong clinical knowledge and expertise in gerontology and rehabilitation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee unit operations, implementing policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective care.
• Assist with treatment and medication administration, ensuring compliance with regulations and protocols.
• Participate in Admissions, conducting thorough assessments and developing individualized care plans.
• Attend and actively participate in weekly meetings with the healthcare team.
• Conduct daily audits of new admission charts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Serve as a liaison between family, patient, doctor, and other departments to ensure seamless communication and care coordination.
• Investigate incident reports and follow up with necessary actions to prevent recurrence.
• Manage staff assignments and ensure quality of care, providing guidance and support as needed.
• Participate in weekly risk meetings to report on patient conditions and identify potential risks.
• Participate in annual evaluations of staff and provide constructive feedback for growth and development.
• Take on-call hours on weekends and holidays as assigned, ensuring prompt response to patient needs.
