Whittier Rehabilitation Hospital - Transitional Care Unit/SNF - Haverhill MA
Position: Unit Manager - RN, 20 Bed Transitional housed within our Rehabilitation Hospital. Regular Schedule: M-F days (40 hours), with coverage as needed on weekends and off-shifts.
Compensation
- $93,500 - $108,000 annually
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional care to residents, under the direction of the Director of Nursing Services, with 24-hour authority and responsibility for clinical management.
- Obtain reports from relieving nurses and record sufficient information for follow-up.
- Conduct resident rounds, report problems, and initiate corrective actions.
- Administer and document medication, enteral nutrition, and treatments per physician orders.
- Perform comprehensive assessments and develop care plans for each resident.
- Obtain and revise physician orders as needed.
- Assess skin condition regularly and document findings.
- Supervise nursing staff, conduct meetings, and coordinate services.
- Ensure infection control policies are followed.
- Support staff education and training programs.
- Respond to resident needs promptly and supervise direct care activities.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to maintain high-quality care.
- Manage medication orders, respond to call lights, and ensure timely physician documentation.
Prerequisites
- Graduate of an accredited RN program.
- Current RN license in Massachusetts.
- Basic Life Support certification.
- Minimum of 3 years recent clinical experience, preferably in Gerontological or Rehabilitative Nursing.
- Prior MDS management experience preferred.
