Qualifications

Job Overview

Whittier Rehabilitation Hospital - Transitional Care Unit/SNF - Haverhill MA

Position: Unit Manager - RN, 20 Bed Transitional housed within our Rehabilitation Hospital. Regular Schedule: M-F days (40 hours), with coverage as needed on weekends and off-shifts.

Compensation
  • $93,500 - $108,000 annually
Responsibilities
  1. Provide exceptional care to residents, under the direction of the Director of Nursing Services, with 24-hour authority and responsibility for clinical management.
  2. Obtain reports from relieving nurses and record sufficient information for follow-up.
  3. Conduct resident rounds, report problems, and initiate corrective actions.
  4. Administer and document medication, enteral nutrition, and treatments per physician orders.
  5. Perform comprehensive assessments and develop care plans for each resident.
  6. Obtain and revise physician orders as needed.
  7. Assess skin condition regularly and document findings.
  8. Supervise nursing staff, conduct meetings, and coordinate services.
  9. Ensure infection control policies are followed.
  10. Support staff education and training programs.
  11. Respond to resident needs promptly and supervise direct care activities.
  12. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  13. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to maintain high-quality care.
  14. Manage medication orders, respond to call lights, and ensure timely physician documentation.
Prerequisites
  • Graduate of an accredited RN program.
  • Current RN license in Massachusetts.
  • Basic Life Support certification.
  • Minimum of 3 years recent clinical experience, preferably in Gerontological or Rehabilitative Nursing.
  • Prior MDS management experience preferred.
