Job summary

Alaris Health at Hamilton Park in Jersey City, NJ, seeks a unit manager at a professional nursing level to lead the department and assume 24-hour responsibility for continuity of nursing care and residents’ welfare.

You will collaborate with the director of nursing to ensure 24/7 coverage, orient and evaluate staff, implement counseling and disciplinary actions, and participate in quality assurance activities. A NJ RN license is required and highly valued.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited school of nursing.
• Licensed by the New Jersey State Board of Nursing.

Responsibilities

• Lead the unit and assume 24-hour responsibility for continuity of nursing care and residents’ welfare.
• Collaborate with the director of nursing to maintain adequate nursing coverage 24/7, including weekends and holidays.
• Orient, demonstrate, teaching and evaluate nursing staff’s skills and assess work performance.
• Implement progressive counseling processes and take disciplinary action as needed.
• Participate in development, implementation and evaluation of quality assurance activities.
• Develop and implement discharge plans with residents, families and the interdisciplinary team.
• Develop programs to facilitate continuity of care when residents are transferred to other centers or hospitals.
• Prepare written reports, review records and participate in data collection as needed.
• Submit budget requests.
• Ensure residents and families receive high quality service in a caring atmosphere.
