Job summary

Adventist Health, St. Helena Hospital in Napa Valley, seeks an experienced nurse leader to oversee a defined unit.

You will supervise front-line nursing and ancillary staff, coordinate daily operations with physicians and leaders, and drive patient safety and quality initiatives while fostering a collaborative culture and ongoing staff development. The role emphasizes scheduling, staffing, and performance management to ensure safe, efficient care and high satisfaction for patients and families

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing or equivalent education/experience required.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Five years of technical experience preferred.
• One year of leadership experience preferred.
• Two years of acute-care nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build a high-performing clinical work team through recruiting, coaching, and development.
• Set goals for patient safety, quality of care, and regulatory compliance.
• Conduct daily rounds with physicians and coordinate care for patients and families.
• Manage staffing, overtime, and monthly unit schedules in collaboration with management.
• Facilitate throughput, admissions, and bed management to optimize patient flow.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
