Job summary

Birchwood Park Rehabilitation and Nursing is seeking an RN/LPN Unit Manager to provide direct nursing care and supervise daily activities of nursing staff. You will ensure care aligns with federal, state, and local standards under the direction of the Director of Nursing.

You will coordinate with the healthcare team, administer medications, educate residents, monitor vital signs, manage equipment, and participate in discharge planning while maintaining high quality care.

Qualifications

• First aid and CPR certification.
• Exceptional staff training and customer service skills.

• Current Virginia RN/LPN license and active license status.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to residents and supervise nursing assistants.

• Prepare and administer prescribed medications and recordkeeping.
• Educate patients on procedures and monitor vital signs.
• Monitor equipment, initiate corrective actions, and participate in discharge planning.

We are currently seeking a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse (RN/LPN) Unit Manager.

Job Description:

Provide direct nursing care to the residents and supervise the day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants. Such supervision must be in accordance with current Federal, State, and Local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our facility, and as may also be required by the Director of Nursing to always maintain the highest degree of quality care.

What you will do as the RN/LPN Unit Manager:

• Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans
• Prepare and administer (orally, subcutaneously, through an IV) and records prescribed medications. Report adverse reactions to medications or treatments in accordance with the policy regarding the administration of medications by a licensed registered nurse.
• Educate patients on surgical procedures Record patients’ medical information and vital signs.
• Monitor and adjust specialized equipment used on patients and interpret and record electronic displays.
• Initiate corrective action whenever the patient displays adverse symptomatology.
• Provide bedside care for a wide variety of medical patients, including pre- and post-surgery patients.
• Change dressings, insert catheters, start IVs Participate in discharge planning.
• Record all care information concisely, accurately and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format, and on the appropriate forms.

Requirements/Qualifications:

• Current RN license in the state
