Job summary

Mental Health Association of Rochester seeks an experienced nursing supervisor to oversee clinical and personnel activities on the unit and coordinate resident care in line with state regulations.

The role includes developing individualized care plans, conducting assessments, and guiding a multidisciplinary team to maintain safety, infection control, and quality of care for residents and their families.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved nursing program.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or three years of long-term care experience.
• Current NYS RN or LPN licensure.
• At least three years of supervisory experience in healthcare settings.
• Knowledge of rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices.
• Strong communication, judgment, and computer skills.
• Genuine interest in caring for the elderly and disabled.
• Ability to handle emergencies calmly and effectively.
• Covid-19 vaccination encouraged but not required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and guide clinical and personnel activities on the unit.
• Coordinate resident care in compliance with state regulations.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans and conduct assessments.
• Oversee daily operations, including activities like bathing, toileting, medication, and meals.
• Perform resident rounds and communicate findings with the interdisciplinary team.
• Assign tasks to Certified Nursing Assistants based on needs and competencies.
• Ensure safety, infection control, and proper documentation.
• Support residents and families in clinical issues and challenges.
• Assist with staff orientation and provide ongoing support.
• Perform other related duties as needed.
