Job summary

VCU Health in Richmond, VA seeks an Assistant Nurse Manager to provide unit leadership and management under the Nurse Manager. You will oversee day-to-day operations, lead staff, and ensure regulatory compliance and fiscal stewardship.

The role requires Virginia RN licensure, current BLS, and 3+ years of clinical experience with at least 1 year in a lead role. A bachelor’s in nursing is required; a master’s degree is preferred, with additional credentials in specialty areas considered an asset.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in Virginia.
• BLS Certification or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of clinical experience with at least 1 year in a lead/supervisory nursing role.
• Master's degree preferred or in progress.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day unit operations and staff leadership.
• Plan, organize, coordinate, monitor and evaluate patient care on the unit.
• Contribute to unit strategic planning and program development.
• Maintain 24-hour responsibility for unit operations and outcomes.
• Complete performance evaluations with input from Nurse Manager and budget guidance.
