Job summary

Overlake Medical Center is inviting registered nurses to join a transition program designed to expand your practice into a new specialty. The program blends online learning with hands-on, precepted clinical work, including 1:1 coaching by an experienced RN and dedicated education sessions to strengthen clinical reasoning.

During the program you will operate at a 0.9 FTE with potential shift adjustments. The cohort starts October 19, 2026, and after completion, placement depends on available

Qualifications

  • RN license (WA state) or Multistate RN license
  • Healthcare provider BLS/CPR certifications
  • 1+ year RN experience
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • RNs hired into units requiring rhythm interpretation competency will take a rhythm assessment in first week

Responsibilities

  • Participate in a nurse transition program with online learning and instructor-led courses
  • Receive 1:1 clinical precepting by an experienced RN
  • Engage in focused sessions with an Education Specialist to enhance learning and clinical reasoning
  • Work a 0.9 FTE schedule during the program with Night shift options

Job description

Welcome to a medical center where you're the center of attention. Pay range: - Hourly $50.72 - $90.17 Exceptional nurses work at Overlake. You could be one of them. Overlake Medical Center has opportunities for nurses looking to transition into a new specialty of practice. Nurses with greater than one year of experience are eligible. The transition program is based on best practices and evidence-based education.

Your program will include:
  • A blend of online learning and instructor led courses
  • 1:1 clinical precepting by an experienced RN
  • Focused sessions with an Education Specialist to enhance learning and clinical reasoning in your new area of practice
  • During the program, you will work a .9 FTE (72 hours per biweekly pay period).
  • After completing the precepted portion of the program your FTE and shift will be based on available positions, with a high probability of .9 FTE, Night shift.
  • Next cohort start date: October 19, 2026
  • The 28-bed unit provides Family Centered Care and includes antepartum and gynecological surgery patients.

Join our compassionate team of patient care professionals in our STATE-OF-THE-ART CHILDBIRTH CENTER, which comprises labor and delivery, emergency obstetrics, mother and baby unit, and a level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Registered Nursing
  • Current WA state RN license or Multistate RN license required.
  • Healthcare provider BLS/CPR certifications
  • 1+ years RN experience
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Note - RNs hired into units that require a competency in cardiac rhythm interpretation will be required to take a rhythm assessment in their first week.
  • This will include standard cardiac rhythms, dysrhythmias and paced rhythms.
