Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program (AACN/ACEN/NLN CNEA preferred).
• Currently holds an unencumbered RN license in the state of practice.
• One year of healthcare experience preferred.
• Nurses performing triage by telephone must be licensed in patients’ states.

Responsibilities

• Answer patient inquiries by telephone and assess the severity of symptoms using triage algorithms.
• Guide patients to appropriate level of care and schedule appointments with providers.
• Document information in health record systems and maintain patient health condition records for follow-up care.
• Educate patients based on calls and maintain and update department triage protocols.
