Job summary

Sovah Health - Danville is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Telemetry/PCU night shift. This in-person role offers a 7P-7A schedule on a blended 6A Telemetry & Progressive Care Unit with 36 beds and a 1:6/1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio.

You will perform plan of care, document care, assist with ADLs, coordinate transfers and discharges, educate patients and families, and participate in ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Current RN VA or compact state license
• Associate’s degree in nursing
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support
• American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 6 months
• Experience in clinical area preferred

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
• Documents patient care and monitors patient condition, communicating with care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Coordinates patient care across disciplines, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and support needs.
• Provides patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, and circumstances.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
• Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
