Patient population: Post cardiotomy, cardiology interventional, post vascular surgical/interventional, advanced heart failure, etc.

Patient ratios: 1:4 Tele/PCU.

Job Summary

As a Registered Nurse, oversee patient care using a professional practice model. Responsibilities include patient assessment, recognizing health issues, creating care plans, and assessing patient responses. Secure patient travel. Know about patient needs in healthcare. Help patients and prevent issues. Follow the Texas Nursing Practice Act and delegate tasks based on condition and team competencies.

Essential Functions Of The Role
  • Conduct detailed clinical assessments and prioritize patient and family needs. Create, implement, and evaluate care plans. Adjust plans to reach desired outcomes.
  • Build relationships, manage discomfort, and maintain professionalism to foster therapeutic connections with patients and families.
  • Create care plans that reflect values and aid in resolving issues.
  • Educate patients, families, nurses, and community members, empowering them with knowledge for better healthcare choices. Assess and document learning needs regularly.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and community to develop a care plan. Delegate tasks carefully and follow up promptly.
  • Use different strategies for problem‑solving with patients, families, and staff. Recognize limitations and prioritize safety, effectiveness, and efficiency in patient care planning and delivery.
  • Achieve goals through teamwork, recognize contributions, and commit to growth. Contribute to peers' development and demonstrate community service commitment.

  • A deep understanding of nursing and patient care standards, as well as procedures.
  • Knowledge of nursing laws, rules, standards, and guidelines in your area; understand hospital procedures and rules.
