Job summary

Allegheny Health Network seeks a Registered Nurse for the 2 North General Surgery Unit. The unit offers broad general medical-surgical care including mastectomies and various surgeries; the RN assesses, plans, implements and evaluates patient care as part of a licensed, interdisciplinary team.

The successful candidate will lead in clinical practice, mentor staff, delegate tasks, and uphold safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• PA RN licensure required or multi-state licensure via eNLC.
• CPR certification required.
• Act 34, Act 33 and Act 73 background clearances required.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership in professional practice within a general surgery unit.
• Maintains patient safety and delivers family-centered care.
• Assigns/delegates tasks based on patient needs and staff competency.
• Utilizes nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Participates in interdisciplinary teams to review care and outcomes.
• Promotes continuous learning and participates in quality initiatives.
