- Provide oversight of operational activities within the department at CGH Clinics
- Perform Clinic RN responsibilities in addition to supervisory duties
- Facilitate departmental staffing issues and communicate needs to management
- Update missed punches, log travel sheets, and help monitor nursing staff overtime
- Carry out level 1 disciplinary notices
- Oversee departmental medical and office supply PAR levels
- Aid candidate screening and identify top candidates for manager selection
- Serve as a resource on policies and procedures
- Respond to unusual departmental occurrences and coordinate action under manager direction
- Lead department huddles
- Oversee and provide standardized staff education with the Clinical Educator
- Meet weekly with the manager and attend monthly meetings
- Coordinate new employee orientation with the Clinical Educator
- Review and update departmental checklists
- Ensure completion of float department-specific checklists
- Provide meeting agendas, record minutes, and distribute minutes to office staff
- Assist with onboarding new providers, ordering supplies, and creating schedules and templates
- Maintain accurate, current provider out schedules
- Assist Clinic Administration with NRC feedback investigations and follow-up
- Pull phone, missing-charge, and other operational reports
- Perform other duties assigned by the manager
Requirements
- Current Illinois Registered Nurse Licensure required
- In-depth working knowledge of current patient-care concepts, principles, and procedures in a clinic setting
- Clear understanding and use of PCIS and EMR; keeps up to date on changes and communicates them to staff
- Three years of previous medical office experience preferred
- Thorough knowledge of medical equipment and instruments preferred
- Prior experience drawing blood preferred
- Basic computer knowledge preferred
- BLS required within 30 days of hire
- ACLS required for Oral Surgery
- Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding preferred
- Ability to document patient needs and assessments
- Knowledge to provide age-appropriate care in a physician office
- Knowledge of growth and development principles appropriate to the patient population
- Ability to assess and interpret patient-status data and provide appropriate pediatric, adolescent, and/or geriatric care
