- Provide and facilitate competent health care of patients and families in the area of practice
- Ensure adherence to established standards of care and scope of practice
- Review physician's orders and carry out orders professionally
- Dispense sample drugs according to policy and procedure and complete the log book
- Ensure documentation of care is complete and accurate
- Provide health and wellness education to individuals and groups
- Provide leadership for initiatives designed to improve quality of care or clinical outcomes
- Assist with procedures while observing standard precautions
- Perform telephone triage for patients or parents from birth through the lifespan
- Notify patients of test results
- Refill medications
- Conduct nurse visits for injections and blood pressure checks
- Perform in-office patient triage
- Schedule patient tests through hospital ancillary departments
Requirements
- Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN) through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) within 30 days
- College Diploma in Nursing
