Cook Children's in Fort Worth, TX is seeking an RN Staff Nurse for the 5 South Tower Trauma and Pre/Postoperative Unit. Summary:

The RN Staff Nurse is responsible for delivering competent, individualized nursing care to patients and families by utilizing the nursing process to augment the established medical plan of treatment. Operating with a strong team orientation, this nurse integrates sound clinical judgment and evidence-based decision-making to address the unique needs of each patient. The role emphasizes exceptional customer relations and professional communication, ensuring that care is delivered with both clinical precision and a high level of service excellence. By maintaining a focus on safety and collaborative practice, the RN Staff Nurse serves as a vital advocate for the patient while contributing to the overall effectiveness of the healthcare team.

5 South Tower - Trauma and Pre/Postoperative Unit The patients on this unit range in age from infant to adolescent. Nurses primarily focus on the pre- and postoperative care of children requiring surgery, including patients with traumatic injuries. This is truly a multidisciplinary floor. Nurses on this unit collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and many other healthcare professionals to prepare children and their families for surgery and provide postoperative nursing care and patient/family education. Diagnoses range from uncomplicated appendectomies to complex spinal fusions, with a wide range in between.

Education/Experience

1 year of direct nursing experience required.

Associate's in Nursing.

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification

Active, unrestricted TX Registered Nurse (RN) license.

BLS - American Heart Association.

Post hire Requirements

PALS or NRP and specialty certifications per unit guidelines.
