Job summary

Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Med Surg unit. This full-time, 36-hour week role requires providing direct patient care, maintaining patient rights, and coordinating with other departments.

Ideal candidates hold an RN license in Missouri (or compact) and have hospital experience. BLS is required or to be obtained within 30 days of hire; BSN is preferred for advancement.

Registered Nurse (RN) – Med Surg

36 hr./week | Full-Time

Location: Mercy Hospital South – 10010 Kennerly Rd, St. Louis, Missouri 63128

Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Qualifications

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing
• Nursing Diploma
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Licensure

Must hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure, in accordance with state board of nursing regulations.

Experience

Previous hospital experience is preferred and may be required depending on the unit.

Certifications

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

Education

BSN preferred.

Licensure

Additional state licensure or specialty certifications preferred.

Experience

Prior experience in specialty area or similar clinical setting.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
• Prolonged standing and walking throughout the shift
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
