Job Summary and Qualifications

The Operating Room RN provides professional surgical nursing care, collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure quality care. Responsibilities include effective communication with surgical technologists, surgeons, patients, families, and team members.

What You Will Do

• Assist in emergency, elective, and scheduled procedures.
• Work with surgical teams to ensure optimal patient care.
• Serve as liaison between the surgical team and patients' families.
• Organize supplies needed for patients.
• Assess patients pre-, intra-, and post-surgery, maintaining a sterile environment.
• Perform count procedures to prevent retained foreign objects and ensure correct site, side, and level of surgery.
• Intervene to maintain physiological balances across systems during surgery.
• Administer medications per physician orders.
• Involve patients and support persons in postoperative care decisions.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program (Associate's Degree or higher).
• Valid RN license in practicing state or active Multi-State license.
• Current BLS certification from AHA or Red Cross.
• Minimum 1-year perioperative nursing experience.
