• Provide postoperative care including pain management, wound care, and discharge planning.
• Document nursing care and communicate with multidisciplinary teams for continuity of care.

The RN collaborates closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and respond promptly to any changes in patient condition. Additionally, the role requires adherence to strict sterile techniques and surgical protocols to minimize infection risks and promote healing. Ultimately, the RN in Surgical Services contributes significantly to the efficiency and effectiveness of the surgical team, enhancing patient experiences and recovery trajectories.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the United States.
• Completion of an accredited nursing program (Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Experience or clinical exposure in surgical or perioperative nursing settings.
• Strong understanding of sterile techniques and infection control protocols.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certified Perioperative Nurse (CNOR) credential.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) are preferred at the time of hire and must be obtained within one year of hire.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
• Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems specific to surgical services.
• Demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
