Job summary

Ochsner Health in New Orleans seeks a Nurse Supervisor-Operating Room to oversee patient care at the point of care within a unit. Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN required for all Ochsner Magnet Facilities.
• Required – 1 year of relevant experience as a registered nurse OR 2 years as an LPN in an acute care setting.
• Required – Current RN license in state of practice and BLS certification.
• Preferred – 2 years RN experience in an operating room setting.

Responsibilities

• Organizes, plans, supervises, and provides coordinated patient care within the unit.
• Supervises, develops, and evaluates assigned departmental staff nurses and technicians.
• Promotes the adoption of nursing protocols and clinical practice guidelines to support evidence-based practice.
• Manages conflict on assigned shifts and collaborates with other supervisors and unit leadership.
• Ensures the operating room is clean, sterilized, and supplies are gathered to complete an operation safely.
