Job summary

Gundersen Health System is hiring a Registered Nurse for its Surgical & Digestive Care Unit in La Crosse, WI. The 24-bed unit cares for diverse surgical and digestive patients and IMC cases, offering a collaborative environment to advance clinical skills.

The role includes 0.8 FTE shifts (day and evening), every other weekend/holiday, with competitive pay and benefits. Wisconsin RN licensure and BLS are required; ADN is mandatory with BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• ADN required; BSN preferred.
• Current Wisconsin RN licensure upon hire.
• BLS certification for Healthcare Providers.
• New graduates and experienced RNs encouraged to apply.
• Surgical, digestive care or medical-surgical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to surgical and digestive care patients.
• Monitor and assess patients across varying acuity levels, including IMC.
• Collaborate with physicians, APPs, social workers, dietitians, CNAs, and RNs.
• Support postoperative and specialized procedures (Whipple, TCAR, sepsis care).
