Job summary

Alaska Regional Hospital in Anchorage is seeking a Registered Nurse for Surgical Care Nights to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. You will collaborate with physicians and the care team, following established nursing models to advocate for patients and families, ensuring exceptional experiences and outcomes.

You will perform assessments, administer medications, document care, educate families, and respond promptly to patient needs while upholding organizational values and standards.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 7 days of employment start date.
• RN registered nurse license (RN).
• Associate Degree required or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition at admission and each shift, report changes.
• Administer prescribed medications and document care in the medical record.
• Respond promptly to patient requests and anticipate needs.
• Educate patients and families about condition, treatment, and follow-up, translating medical terms as needed.
