Job summary

Mercy Medical Center Redding is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver compassionate, high-quality care across a busy, interdisciplinary team. You will perform holistic assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, and adapt patient education for diverse populations, while maintaining a patient-first approach in a fast-paced setting.

Requirements include an ADN, CA RN license, BLS certification, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing required.
• 1 year acute care experience or nursing practice experience preferred.
• Current California RN license required.
• Verbal and written communication skills and computer skills required.
• Current BLS certification required (American Heart Association).
• Opportunities for training for those with less than 1 year of acute experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine physical/psychosocial assessments following care plans and guidelines.
• Formulate and participate in planning patient care.
• Adapt patient education to individual needs and families; integrate education during care delivery.
• Ensure efficient delivery of care and identify immediate priorities.
• Make independent clinical decisions based on education and experience.
• Advocate for patient rights and resolve conflicts as needed.

• Performs routine physical/psychosocial assessment to collect basic data: follows the written plan of care, standards, practice guidelines, utilizes pathways, which includes notifying physicians as appropriate
• Formulates a plan of care for individual needs, including patient population needs. Participates in the planning of routine transitional health care needs (i.e. treatment options, patient placement options)
• Adapts planned educational programs and information to individual patients and family by modifying teaching strategies or content. Integrates education during the delivery of patient care
• Ensures efficiency in the delivery of care to determine immediate priorities and to offer solutions for problems
• Makes independent clinical decisions based on knowledge drawn from education and experience
• Actively advocates for patient rights and identifies potential conflict. Seeks counsel for resolution of conflict

Job Requirements

Required:

• Associate degree in nursing from an accredited school of nursing required
