Job summary

The RN Surgery Weekender Flex role at Cleveland Clinic offers flexible weekend-day shifts in the Cardiothoracic OR, delivering professional nursing care across adult and pediatric patients. You will scrub, assist with instrument handling, monitor patient status, and support the surgeon during hemostasis and suturing.

Required ADN or BSN and RN license; one year of RN experience or perioperative residency, with BLS and ACLS preferred within 6 months.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN required).
• One year RN experience required or completion of Cleveland Clinic perioperative residency program.
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) and BLS; ACLS preferred within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Deliver professional nursing care in an operative setting to adult and pediatric patients.
• Perform scrub functions, including selecting and handling instruments and supplies.
• Perform circulating functions, monitoring and communicating patient condition.
• Assist the operating physician with surgical tasks such as hemostasis and suturing.
• Prepare the Operating Room, surgical instruments, and equipment for use.
