Job summary

UnityPoint Health in Dubuque, IA is hiring an Operating Room Registered Nurse to join a collaborative surgical team. You will provide direct patient care before, during, and after procedures and maintain a safe, sterile operating room environment.

This full-time position features (3) 12-hour shifts (9:00 am – 9:00 pm) for 72 hours per pay period, with a holiday and call rotation, and a $10,000 sign-on bonus. BSN within 12 years of hire; Iowa RN licensure with BLS and ACLS certification required.

Qualifications

• Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in Iowa.
• BLS certification or within 3 months from date of hire.
• ACLS certification or within 6 months from date of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients before, during, and after surgical procedures.
• Prepare and maintain a safe, sterile operating room environment.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and the interdisciplinary care team.
• Monitor patients throughout surgery, ensuring safety and responding to changes in condition.
• Accurately document patient care, medications, and surgical procedures.
• Advocate for patients while delivering compassionate, high-quality care in a fast-paced surgical setting.

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Must obtain BSN within 12 years of hire)

License(s)/Certification(s)

• Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in Iowa.
• Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or within (3) months from date of hire
• Must possess and maintain current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification or within (6) months from date of hire
