Job summary

Cleveland Clinic is seeking dedicated nursing staff for perioperative care at its hospital. You will participate in surgical patient care, perform scrub and circulating duties, and ensure OR readiness with instruments and equipment. The role includes day and on-call shifts with rotating Saturdays.

Minimum qualifications include an RN license, BLS, ACLS within six months, and 1 year of RN experience or completion of Cleveland Clinic’s Perioperative Residency Program. BSN preferred.

Qualifications

A caregiver in this role works day and on-call shifts from 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. or 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., with rotating Saturday shifts.

On-call requirement includes 4–6 shifts within a six-week period, including one weekend shift.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Provide nursing care in an operative setting to patients undergoing surgical or invasive procedures.
• Perform scrub and circulating functions.
• Prepare the OR, surgical instruments and equipment for use.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Graduate from an accredited school of Professional Nursing (Diploma, ASN, BSN)
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
• One year of RN experience OR completion of Cleveland Clinic’s Perioperative Residency Program
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) within six months of hire

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Physical Requirements

• Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
• Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
• Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 25 pounds and ability to push, pull, and navigate supply carts weighing > than 75 pounds periodically.

Personal Protective Equipment

• Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $35.50

Maximum hourly: $55.60
