Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor:
The RN Supervisor assists the Director of Nursing; plans, develops, organizes, and coordinates day-to-day functions of the nursing department.
Major Duties and Critical Tasks:
  • Plans, develops, organizes, implements, and directs nursing services for residents on the assigned floor.
  • Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations and facility policies and procedures.
  • Reviews complaints and grievances filed by staff and reports as required.
  • Maintains adequate stock of medications, supplies, and equipment, and notifies appropriate personnel of needs.
  • Assists in the development of assessments of residents' nursing needs.
  • Makes nursing/aide assignments as indicated.
  • Encourages staff to attend and participate in outside training programs.
Education and Experience for RN Supervisor:
  • A nursing degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience providing direct care in long-term, restorative, or geriatric settings.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a nursing supervisor, preferably in a nursing home.
  • Current CPR Certification.
  • Must meet state licensure requirements and have no disciplinary actions against professional license.
