Job summary

Advocate Health's Vascular Access Team in North Carolina seeks an experienced RN to provide direct patient care, manage IV access, and support team operations on a 36-hour weekly schedule with 4 nights, 9pm-7am. The role emphasizes collaboration across disciplines and adherence to safety standards.

The ideal candidate holds a current RN license, BSN or en route, and BLS certification, with chemo/bio coursework within 3–4 months of hire and PIV placement experience.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited nursing program.
• BSN or currently enrolled in BSN program.
• Registered Nurse license issued by the state.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification.
• Chemo/Bio course within 3-4 months of hire.
• VABC not required but encouraged after 2 years on the team.
• Experience with Peripheral Intravenous (PIV) placements.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care and administer medications.
• Assist with interview, selection, and supervision of nursing personnel.
• Coordinate communication through staff huddles and meetings.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state laws and hospital policies.
• Round on patients, teammates, and physicians to assess care and operations.
• Delegate care to appropriate healthcare workers as needed.
• Monitor patient flow and staffing to match acuity and volume.
