Intercoastal Medical Group in Sarasota, FL is seeking a Registered Nurse Supervisor to lead our Oncology-Hematology outpatient clinic and infusion center, ensuring safe, high‑quality patient care and efficient operations.

You will oversee medication administration, chemotherapy infusions, patient assessments, clinical documentation, and staffing, collaborating with physicians, pharmacists, and nursing staff.

Qualifications

  • Current, unrestricted RN license in the applicable state.
  • Minimum of 3 years of nursing management or supervisory experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional nursing experience, preferably in Oncology-Hematology.
  • BSN or equivalent nursing degree.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Strong knowledge of clinical care standards, patient safety protocols, and healthcare regulations.
  • Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems and clinical documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to Oncology-Hematology patients in the physician office and infusion center.
  • Perform comprehensive nursing assessments, including review of medical history, current medications, allergies, vital signs, laboratory results, treatment parameters, and patient condition.
  • Assess patients prior to, during, and following infusion treatments.
  • Administer medications, injections, chemotherapy, biologic agents, immunotherapy, blood products, supportive therapies, and other treatments as ordered and within the nurse's scope of practice.
  • Verify physician orders, treatment plans, laboratory results, patient identification, allergies, medication doses, treatment parameters, and required pre-medications prior to treatment.
  • Prepare and administer medications and infusions in accordance with established policies, procedures, manufacturer recommendations, and applicable safety standards.Monitor patients closely throughout infusion treatments for adverse reactions, hypersensitivity reactions, changes in condition, and other complications.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the infusion center and infusion room.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing, patient flow, scheduling, treatment chair utilization, and efficient use of clinical resources.
  • Monitor infusion center workflow and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, patient experience, safety, and quality.
  • Ensure treatment areas are appropriately stocked, clean, organized, and prepared for daily operations.
  • Monitor availability and appropriate storage of medications, supplies, emergency equipment, and clinical resources.
  • Collaborate with pharmacy personnel and/or designated medication-management staff to ensure appropriate medication handling and treatment preparation.
  • Monitor adherence to established oncology and infusion safety practices.
  • Serve as a clinical leader and resource for the Oncology-Hematology practice and infusion center.
  • Collaborate with physicians and practice leadership regarding patient care, staffing, workflow, policies, and operational concerns.
  • Participate in departmental and practice meetings as requested.
  • Supervise, lead, and support nursing and clinical personnel assigned to the infusion center and applicable clinical areas.
  • Participate in interviewing, hiring, onboarding, orientation, training, and competency assessment of clinical staff.
  • Develop and maintain appropriate staffing assignments based on patient volume, acuity, treatment complexity, and operational needs.
  • Establish daily assignments and ensure adequate coverage for the infusion center.
  • Monitor employee performance and provide coaching, feedback, and corrective action when appropriate.
  • Conduct or participate in employee performance evaluations.
  • Address employee concerns and workplace issues promptly and appropriately.
  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels and assist with scheduling, time-off requests, and coverage.
  • Ensure staff members work within their licensure, certification, training, competency, and scope of practice.
  • Serve as a clinical resource and mentor for nursing and clinical staff.
