Job summary

Union Plaza Care Center in Queens, NY seeks an experienced RN Supervisor to lead nursing operations and mentor clinical staff. You will oversee daily care delivery, support staffing decisions, and partner with leadership to maintain high standards of resident care.

The role prioritizes strong clinical leadership, staff development, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams. This on-site position requires active RN licensure and prior supervisory or charge nurse experience in a long-term

Qualifications

• Current RN license in New Jersey.
• 3+ years of supervisory experience in a hospital or similar setting.
• Long-term care experience preferred.
• Minimum 6 months' experience in rehabilitative/restorative nursing practices.

Responsibilities

• Support the DON and ADON in overseeing daily nursing operations.
• Supervise professional and non-professional staff, ensuring quality care delivery.
• Manage unit staffing to maintain proper coverage and minimize overtime/agency use.
• Address resident and family concerns with professionalism and compassion.
• Provide coaching, progressive counseling, and disciplinary action as needed.
• Participate in care planning, discharge planning, and interdisciplinary team meetings.
• Oversee MDS completion and quality assurance initiatives.
• Teach, demonstrate, and evaluate nursing skills to support staff development.
• Assist with recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of nursing personnel.
• Attend committee meetings and contribute to facility-wide goals.
• Step into nursing responsibilities on weekends/holidays as needed.
