Job summary

The Georgia Department of Public Health is seeking a nurse supervisor to lead an HIV care center, oversee daily operations, and ensure quality patient care. This role supports immunization programs, lab services, and HRSA data management, with emphasis on staff leadership and program quality.

Minimum qualifications include an associate degree in nursing, an active Georgia RN license, CPR certification, and relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing and one year of nursing experience with a PHN course within one year of hire and current Georgia RN license plus CPR certification.
• Or two years of experience at the PH Registered Nurse 3 (HCP192) level or equivalent.
• Preferred: two+ years RN experience in outpatient HIV/AIDS treatment and prior Nurse Supervisor experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise assigned staff including performance management and clinic staffing.
• Assess and evaluate client care, clinic flow and staff efficiency while ensuring quality care.
• Coordinate with health care team to plan and evaluate client care plans.
• Observe nursing staff to ensure proper nursing care is provided.
• Provide professional nursing care following protocols and procedures.
• Focus on illness prevention and health maintenance for populations, including disaster response.
• Care for populations with special needs during disasters and biological/chemical events.
